Who We Are
This company is Usable Web Solutions, LLC, a registered limited liability corporation in the State of New Jersey. Our corporate website address is https://www.usablewebsolutions.com/ (“the site” or “the website”).
What Personal Data The Site Collects and Why The Site Collects It
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, UWS collects the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address, and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from the visitor’s email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if the visitor is using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available by clicking here. After approval of a visitor’s comment, the visitor’s profile picture is visible to the public in the context of the visitor’s comment.
Media
If a visitor uploads images to the website, the visitor should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Contact Form Cookies
If a visitor leaves a comment on the site, the visitor may opt-in to saving their name, email address, and website in a cookie. These are for the visitor’s convenience so that the visitor does not have to fill in their details again when they leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. When the visitor loads the site’s login page, the site will set a temporary cookie to determine if the visitor’s browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when the visitor’s browser is closed. When a visitor logs in, the site will also set up several cookies to save the visitor’s login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If the visitor selects “Remember Me,” their login will persist for two weeks. If the visitor logs out of their account, the login cookies will be removed. If the visitor edits or publishes an article, an additional cookie will be saved in their browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article the visitor just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded Content from Other Websites
Articles on the site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about the visitor, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor the visitor’s interaction with that embedded content, including tracking the visitor’s interaction with the embedded content if they have an account and are logged in to that website.
Analytics | Who The Site Shares Your Data With | How Long The Site Retains Visitor Data
If a visitor leaves a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so the site can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. For users that register on the website (if any), the website also stores the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What Rights Visitors Have Over Their Data
If a visitor has an account on this site, or has left comments, they can request to receive an exported file of the personal data the site holds about the visitor, including any data the visitor provided to the site. The visitor can also request that the site erase any personal data the site holds about them. This does not include any data the site is obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where The Site Sends Your Data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Advertisers
Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor’s prior visits to the website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to visitors based on their visit to the site and/or other sites on the Internet. Visitors may opt-out of personalized advertising by visiting Ads Settings. Visitors may also opt-out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
The Site’s Contact Information
A visitor can contact the administrator of the website by sending an email to privacy.contact [@] usablewebsolutions.com.
Children
UWS is fully compliant with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. The site encourages parents to spend time online with their children and monitor what their children view on the internet. UWS does not knowingly collect, use, or retain any personal information from visitors to the website who are age 12 or younger.
Changes to the Privacy Policy
UWS reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time. If UWS decides to change the Privacy Policy, then changes will be posted here and the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will change. UWS encourages visitors to visit this area frequently to stay informed of any changes.
